From Boots on the Ground to Data-Driven Leadership
Raised on a 3,000-acre mixed cattle and grain farm in southern Saskatchewan, Fogal’s agricultural foundation runs deep. He began his professional journey at Monsanto Company as a technical development agronomist in 2005, where he supported agronomic trial development in Saskatchewan. Shortly after, he joined Bayer Crop Science, initially as a breeding agronomist in Saskatchewan, Canada, working closely with researchers and plant breeders to manage multi-crop small plot field research programs. His responsibilities included seed preparation, planting, trail maintenance and detailed agronomic data collection.
He is responsible for aligning digital tools, agronomic services and marketing strategies to create practical, scalable solutions for growers nationwide
In 2008, Fogal transitioned to Bayer Australia as a trait development lead agronomist, leading expansive seed trial initiatives across southeastern Australia. He expertly navigated stringent regulatory requirements and complex stakeholder relationships, which played a pivotal role in Bayer’s market growth and reinforced the company’s corporate reputation.
In 2012, Fogal ventured into entrepreneurship, founding Outback Exploration Inc., a well-site consulting firm specializing in geological supervision for oil and gas drilling projects in both Canada and Australia. This experience broadened his operational expertise beyond agriculture, encompassing resource extraction industries.
Since 2016, he has been with Richardson International, advancing from sales agronomist to his current role as Senior Director of Ag Innovation and Marketing. Fogal now leads the integration of agronomic expertise with digital technologies to enhance sustainability, profitability and value for growers across Canada.
