Iraq’s fast sectoral growth confirmed by impressive VDMA and WTO figures
(Erbil/Istanbul/Heidelberg) Organised by fairtrade Messe and Sofuar, Iraq agrofood & plastprintpack are returning to the Baghdad International Fairgrounds from 19 to 21 October 2025. Exhibitors and trade visitors will benefit from the extensive experience and expertise of the organisers as • fairtrade has successfully organised 32 editions of Iran agrofood in Tehran and 10 editions of plast & printpack in Algiers; and • Sofuar & fairtrade have jointly organized 7 editions of AgroPack, Food & Plast Iraq in Erbil, Iraq - the most recent edition of November 2024 attracting 10,362 visitors from 47 countries with 317 exhibitors from 18 countries. Due to overwhelming demand, the organisers announce two locations in both Baghdad and Erbil from 2025. (VDMA) ● Iraq’s food imports also surged between 2018 and 2023, up 6.2% annually, rising from US$ 10.9 billion to US$ 14.7 billion (WTO). ● Iraq’s imports of plastics technology increased with an annual growth rate of 15.7%, from €20 million to €48 million between 2017 and 2023.
